Bio
Tessa Heller is a genetic counselor who works with individuals and their families who have, or are at risk for, genetic disorders. She reviews our patients' medical and family history, coordinates genetic testing, and interprets results in an easily understandable manner.
Tessa provides families with information about genetic diagnoses including causes, management, and whether other family members may be affected. She enjoys getting to know families and providing support and resources throughout their diagnostic journey.
Her passion for genetic counseling was sparked by an interest in the science of medical genetics combined with a desire to support families who are affected by genetic disorders.
Outside of work, Tessa enjoys reading, yoga, sunsets on the beach, and cheering on University of Virginia's basketball team.
