Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters (CHKD) was one of four centers in the nation selected to study Elevidys, a gene therapy treatment for Duchenne muscular dystrophy that is now approved by the FDA for certain Duchenne patients. Dr. Crystal Proud, director of neurology at CHKD, is now accepting American and international patients for Elevidys treatment at CHKD. Click here to read about one patient’s experience.

The following assessments may be performed at the clinical visit depending on the needs of the neuromuscular condition being evaluated:

  • Respiratory therapist evaluation, including spirometry testing – designed to evaluate the strength of the muscles around the lungs
