Bio
Dr. Chilsen has felt a calling to medicine from a young age, in particular to the work of alleviating suffering for patients with pain and serious illness. In medical school, she fell in love with family medicine for the field's focus on holistic approaches to the care of patients of all ages as well as whole communities by addressing social determinants of health and confronting healthcare disparities.
She went on to complete fellowship training as Duke University's inaugural pediatric track fellow, where she discovered a passion for caring for patients navigating serious illness while transitioning from pediatric to adult medical care.
Dr. Chilsen says her favorite part of the job is meeting patients and their families, hearing their life stories, and formulating individualized plans of care to meet their goals and values.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Chilsen enjoys road cycling, running, kayaking, reading, cooking, and cheering on her Wisconsin Badgers!
