Bio
Kathleen “Kasey” Bennett, Psy.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in providing therapy and assessment services to children, adolescents, and families. She completed her undergraduate degree at the College of Wooster and completed her master’s and doctoral degrees at Loyola University Maryland. She comes to CHKD after spending 12 years as a psychologist with VBCPS primarily within the alternative education setting where she was able to help significantly increase mental health support and reduce stigma within a traditionally underrepresented population.
Dr. Bennett believes in meeting families where they are, utilizing a collaborative, strengths-based approach. She strives to provide a non-judgmental and safe atmosphere where individual differences and diversity are valued. In therapy Dr. Bennett utilizes a range of evidence-based techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness practices. Through assessment she strives to provide families an integrated, comprehensive picture of strengths and areas for growth, diagnostic clarity, and recommendations for both the home and school settings to guide treatment and interventions.
In her free time Dr. Bennett loves spending time with her husband and three sons, enjoying the beach, hiking, and finding new things to do in the area. She and her oldest son share a love for basketball and she especially enjoys opportunities to coach his teams.
