Bio

Dr. Kathryn Scott is a licensed clinical psychologist practicing in CHKD's mental health program. 

Dr. Scott obtained her doctorate in clinical psychology from Sam Houston State University in 2020. She has provided clinical services in a variety of clinical settings in Texas, North Carolina, Massachusetts, and Virginia, including state psychiatric hospitals, juvenile probation departments and detention centers, federal prisons, and community mental health centers. 

Dr. Scott has specialized training in psychological assessment, including psychological testing related to intellectual functioning, psychodiagnostic clarification, and academic achievement. She has also obtained intensive training in forensic assessment for the legal system. 

At CHKD, Dr. Scott provides psychological assessment services for children and adolescents. She has particular expertise related to assessing ADHD, behavioral disturbances, mood disorders, anxiety, psychotic spectrum symptoms, and overall intellectual and academic functioning.

Dr. Scott is passionate about clinical psychology, a career path she has pursued since she was an adolescent. She loves the opportunity to work with the children and families of CHKD and contribute to the Hampton Roads community. 

Outside of her psychological work, Dr. Scott enjoys reading, doting on her two dogs, spending time with family and friends, and exploring Virginia.
