Bio
A native of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Verena is passionate about helping individuals improve their health, so their quality of life is maximized. She has always desired to have a positive impact on the lives of those she encounters. Realizing the need for more healthcare providers to support individuals suffering from mental health diagnoses, Verena decided to return to college to obtain her post-masters certificate as an advanced practice nurse in psychiatric/mental health. Verena has worked in multiple healthcare and educational settings. She earned an Associate of Science degree in Nursing from Pearl River Community College in 1999, a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2003, a Master of Science degree in Nursing from William Carey College in 2004, a Doctorate degree in Nursing Practice from Walden University in 2015, and a Post-Masters certificate as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2022.
Verena is married with two children. She is a lifelong learner and reflective practitioner who likes reading literature that helps to expand her evidence-based practices. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.
