Bio
Dr. Haley Powell grew up in a military family, moving all around the country during her childhood. She graduated from Florida State University with a degree in exercise science and physiology. She attended medical school at the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine where she received hands-on training in
osteopathic manipulative treatment. Dr. Powell completed her pediatric residency at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando, Florida, before training at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for her sports medicine fellowship.
Dr. Powell truly cares about the health and wellbeing of all children and has a special interest in treating musculoskeletal injuries in the growing and developing body. She takes pride in building strong relationships with her patients and their families. Dr. Powell provides osteopathic manipulation when
appropriate as an additional therapeutic tool. She received specialized training in ultrasound-guided injections and dynamic hip ultrasound studies, which evaluate the hip joint for microinstability.
As a doctor of osteopathic medicine, Dr. Powell practices medicine with a holistic approach in that the mind and body are interconnected. She appreciates the mental challenges that student-athletes may experience and advocates for addressing mental health concerns in addition to sports injuries. Dr. Powell's
ultimate goal is to help athletes get back into their sports and activities as safely and efficiently as possible.
