Bio
Dr. Leidel traveled
the world as a "military brat" until her father completed his 23-plus years in the U.S. Navy and retired. She graduated from Virginia Tech with a
bachelor's degree in biochemistry and worked for Sloan-Kettering Memorial
Hospital in New York City, researching and performing bone marrow analysis in Dr.
Michael Andreef's flow cytometry lab before enrolling in medical school at
EVMS.
Wanting to be a parent first prior to advising parents, she had her
daughter, Lauren, during her fourth year in medical school. She was very fortunate
to start private practice with her mentor, Dr. James Arline, at Children's
Medical Center of Tidewater. After his passing and
following his roots, she joined PDC Pediatrics, Dr. Arline's first practice in
Norfolk.
Dr. Leidel is also passionate about music. She received her piano teaching certification through the National Guild of
Piano Music Teacher Association.
