Bio
Dr. Drewes grew up in Reston, VA, and attended William and Mary, where he majored in biology and minored in chemistry. During his summers, he had the opportunity work at the National Cancer Institute and assist in studying a gene involved in childhood leukemia. Following college, Dr. Drewes attended EVMS. Impressed with the care provided at CHKD and CHKD's strong dedication to families, Dr. Drewes completed his residency there.
During his time as chief resident and the following year, Dr. Drewes served as an attending physician in the emergency department, as well as caring for newborns in various area nurseries. He is now part of the pediatrics team at Tidewater Children’s Associates, which is part of CHKD Medical Group. In his spare time, Dr. Drewes enjoys cooking, readying and studying films, particularly the films of Orson Wells. Most of all, he enjoys spending time with his wife and sons.
