Bio
Dr. Hendricks, who grew up in Atlanta, attended the University of Virginia, where she majored in biology and
psychology. She received her Master of Public Health at Emory University
and worked as an epidemiologist at the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). She
returned to Virginia to attend the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, also known as Medical College of Virginia, for her medical
degree and to complete pediatric residency at CHKD, where she fell in love with
the Tidewater area.
During residency, she was fortunate to have mentors who
specialized in breastfeeding medicine. Dr. Hendricks became passionate about
promoting breastfeeding and helping families breastfeed. She went on to earn
the International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)
certification. She enjoys working with both the mother and the baby in
the office in addition to supporting families in sickness and in health.
