Bio
Before joining CHKD in May 2023, Ashleigh Hayes spent six years working as a sports medicine and orthopedic surgery physician assistant at Boston Children's Hospital (BCH). Ashleigh received her two master's degrees in Boston prior to her position at BCH.
Originally from Chesapeake, Ashleigh and her family made the decision to move to the Hampton Roads area in order to be closer to her parents, brothers, and nieces. Ashleigh, her husband, and their 2-year-old son are excited to soak up the warm weather, hit the pool, and explore Virginia
Beach with their dog, Charlie.
Ashleigh says she was inspired to pursue medicine from a young age when she grew up watching her father work as a physician. A competitive gymnast for most of her adolescence, Ashleigh had many injuries, which sparked her interest in sports medicine and orthopedics.
Ashleigh was born in Liverpool, England and remains a diehard Liverpool FC supporter, as well as major New England sports fan. In her free time, she enjoys chasing her toddler, watching games with family, and lounging at the beach.
