Bio

Dr. William K. Roache is an orthopedic surgeon at CHKD, specializing in pediatric, adolescent, and young adult sports medicine.

Originally from Atlanta, Dr. Roache completed his undergraduate studies at the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) with a bachelor’s degree in industrial and systems engineering. Dr. Roache then earned his medical degree at Howard University College of Medicine in Washington D.C. where he graduated at the top of his class with highest distinction and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society as a junior.

Dr. Roache completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Arizona, in Phoenix, and then went on to complete additional fellowship training in orthopedic sports medicine with a focus on pediatric sports medicine at the Boston Children’s Hospital program at Harvard University.

Dr. Roache’s clinical practice specializes in the non-operative and operative treatment of a wide range of complex pediatric sports injuries and conditions, pediatric trauma, and fracture care.

Dr. Roache has a long history of involvement with athletics. As a former multisport athlete sidelined by injury throughout his playing career, Dr. Roache entered medicine to help treat kids and young adults and get them back to playing sports and being active. He feels privileged to take care of CHKD patient families and help athletes get back to doing what they love.
