Merten has a passion for helping children and families receive quality mental health care. Her therapeutic practice is focused on understanding the unique make up of each individual and family in order to provide individualized treatment. Working from a strengths-based approach, Merten and patients work together to identify goals and ways to achieve them.

Merten has experience working with children and families in a variety of settings. She is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT). In addition, she utilizes many different modalities such as play, art, and mindfulness in order to meet the needs and interest of her patients.
