Bio
Mauzy is a physical therapist on the CHKD sports medicine team. Originally from Lynchburg, Mauzy attended the University of Lynchburg for both his undergraduate and graduate degrees. He worked physical therapy technician jobs and gained clinical experiences with numerous patient populations across the country. During this time, he most enjoyed working with pediatric, collegiate, and master’s level athletes in a variety of sports.
He was a gymnast for 13 years, a swimmer for three years, and continues to work out almost daily. His interest in physical therapy began after experiencing a career-altering injury that led him to work with, and be inspired by, the physical therapist who helped him defy the odds. He works daily to be that clinician for each one of his patients.
During his free time, Mauzy enjoys working out and weightlifting, traveling, hiking, watching movies, listening to music, and spending time with his friends and family.
