McCasland, Kelly and Foley join executive team

NORFOLK, VA, Sept. 10, 2015 – Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters Health System has named three new vice presidents.

Jalana McCasland joins the CHKD Health System as Vice President of Physician Practice Management. Dr. Robert Kelly, chief of surgery, has been promoted to Vice President, Chief of Surgery, and Dr. Christopher Foley, medical director of CHKD’s pediatric intensive care unit, pharmacy and critical care transport, has been promoted to Vice President, Chief of Medicine.

McCasland most recently spent nearly a decade with VCU Health System where she was Vice President for Ambulatory Operations and the Executive Director of Regional Outreach. Prior to that, McCasland held positions with the UVA Health System and the Texas University Health Science Center in Tyler. She holds a B.A. in politics and government from the University of Texas in Dallas and a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Texas at Tyler.

Dr. Kelly graduated magna cum laude from Spring Hill College, attended medical school at Johns Hopkins, completed his residency at Vanderbilt University and completed fellowships at UCLA and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo before coming to CHKD.


Dr. Foley, who completed his undergraduate studies at Carleton College, attended medical school at the University of Vermont, completed his residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed his fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Buffalo.
