Bio
Dr. Dilustro has been with CHKD for more than 20 years and has been the senior member of the neurosurgical staff since 2008. He has extensive craniofacial training and experience, as well as surgical experience in the treatment of children, and is a team member of a variety of CHKD programs and clinics. He also has unique experience with craniofacial and vascular surgery.
A graduate of the University of Virginia, with distinction, Dr. Dilustro attended Eastern Virginia Medical School on full scholarship and is now an assistant professor of pediatrics at EVMS, remaining active in both teaching and publishing. After an internship at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center, Dr. Dilustro served a fellowship at the University of Western Ontario, where he studied vascular surgery and microneurosurgery. He has extensive experience with brain tumors.
Passionate about sailing, Dr. Dilustro has been married for 23 years to wife Sharon, a professor of art at Old Dominion University. The couple has two adult daughters, Lilly and Maddy.
