Short-term Mental Health Care
Bridge
Bridge is a short-term program (4-6 weeks) for children ages 11-17 (or still in high school) who have recently been discharged from psychiatric inpatient hospitalization and do not have follow up care or for patients who are experiencing significant mental health decline and safety concerns that do not require inpatient hospitalization for stabilization. We provide short term (6 weeks) individual therapy, group therapy, and psychiatric evaluations and care while assisting families with connecting to long-term providers.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) - Coming Soon
IOP provides mental health evaluation and evidence-based treatment to pediatric patients who would benefit from care in a structured and safe facility setting on a more frequent basis than traditional outpatient therapy. The goal of treatment in IOP is to improve the individual’s and/or family’s management of mental health needs beyond traditional outpatient services through individual and group therapies, psycho-education, family engagement, and weekly symptom management.
IOP is a multi-week treatment that meets for 3-4 hours, three times a week. Ideally, sessions are held in person, but may also be held virtually. Sessions are mostly in a group format with peers. Most IOP groups will also have a scheduled time that parents/caregivers or possibly other family members come together to learn how to navigate a child’s mental health condition as a family. Additionally, patients will meet individually with a therapist weekly and the therapist may also meet with the family outside of the group setting.
Partial Hospital Program (PHP) - Coming Soon
CHKD’s Partial Hospitalization Program is a new elevated level of care offering daytime care Monday through Friday in a patient-centered environment. Patients and families will receive collaborative therapeutic services each week through their treatment teams that include pharmacological management, medication monitoring, individual, group, and family therapy services, as well as individualized coaching and academic supports. Our PHP program works to develop skills and identify resources to support your child’s success at home and school.
