Bio
Tameka has a passion for helping children and adolescents achieve mental health wellness. She believes in the power of relationships in establishing an environment that promotes safety and growth in all areas of health. She has experience working in various pediatric settings providing clinical insights through her warm, strength-based approach. She’s proud to have been one of the first clinicians to offer therapeutic interventions to children and families at YELLOWHAB – a private school for underserved families, via a partnership through CHKD. She now serves as the early childhood mental health consultant for both the General Academic Pediatrics and Norfolk Pediatrics clinics.
Tameka utilizes a solution-focused and person-centered therapeutic approach. She is trained in evidence-based practices such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Attachment Vitamins (AV). In addition, she enjoys listening to music and spending time with friends and family during her leisure time.
