The Flu

Flu season officially begins in October. For healthy older children and adults, getting the flu can be miserable. For younger children or those with compromised immune systems, the flu can be much more serious. That’s why getting vaccinated is so important!

Here’s how to keep your whole family safe and healthy this season:

  • The CDC recommends everyone age 6 months or older get the flu vaccine every year.
  • Children younger than 6 months are too young to be vaccinated, so it’s especially important that all family members and adults in close contact are vaccinated.
  • Children receiving the vaccine for the first time will need two shots, at least 28 days apart.
  • Vaccinate as early as possible and ask your healthcare provider if you have any questions or concerns.
