NORFOLK, Va.- Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters Health System, a pediatric health system serving children in southeastern Virginia, northeastern North Carolina, and Virginia’s Eastern Shore, announced today their plan to migrate all clinical and business software to Epic Systems.
“This significant investment will replace several distinct software platforms, integrating disparate systems into a more cohesive, nimble data environment,” says CHKD CEO and President Amy Sampson. “This patient-forward technology will streamline our families’ experience with CHKD, strengthen our clinical efforts, enhance communications, and deliver capabilities that will carry our mission forward in a rapidly changing environment. We’re making this transformational investment to best serve our patients, team members, providers, and the CHKD of the future.”
Epic Systems is America’s leading provider of electronic health record software, known for the development of comprehensive systems that integrate patient data, clinical workflows, and billing functions while maintaining a strong commitment to patient privacy.
CHKD will begin the work to migrate clinical and business systems to Epic Systems in June 2026, with an expected launch late in 2027.
