Personal Statement

CHKD is dedicated to serving the community and helping provide excellent care to children in all areas. With the demand in mental health providers, CHKD has taken on a new project of building a large unit dedicated to mental health needs, and I'm very excited to be a part of this project.

Bio

From a young age, Dr. Garg was interested in helping children, but it was not until college that she became a psychology major and gained appreciation and interest in the field.

Throughout medical school, she was torn between pediatrics and psychiatry. Finally, she decided to combine the two.

She enjoys working with children and their families in providing a service to further explore mental health while changing the way we all look at the brain. A big component of this field is the importance of collaborative care and engaging all members of the team along with family to be a part of the care and management.

Concerned About Your Child's Mental Health?

If you are concerned about your child's mental health, the best place to start is with your child's primary care pediatrician. Many of CHKD's pediatricians have completed advanced training in the management of disorders such as ADHD, depression, and anxiety.
