Bio
Briahna is a dual citizen of Canada and the USA. Growing up, she lived in Japan, Germany, and England. She is passionate about helping others, especially teenagers, due to her own experiences as a teenager.
Briahna is specifically passionate about helping teenagers heal from trauma. She is trained in Eye Movement Reprocessing and Desensitization (EMDR), which she uses to assist teenagers with reprocessing and desensitizing their traumatic experiences. Briahna also uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help adolescents work through anxiety, depression, ADHD, and other mental and behavioral health struggles.
Briahna has worked in the mental health field for over 10 years, starting out in substance abuse counseling working with VB ASAP and Norfolk Probation and Parole. She began working with adolescents in 2018 at residential treatment facilities, then joined the CHKD PHP program in 2024 and moved to outpatient in 2025. Briahna is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner (LSATP), as well as a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC).
Briahna chose to work for CHKD due to the organization’s commitment to helping children and adolescents and providing the best care with fidelity.
When she is not working, Briahna enjoys spending time with her spouse, children, two dogs, and cat. She loves nature, especially the woods and mountains. She can also be a homebody and loves playing video games and watching television shows with her family.
