Personal Statement
CHKD has been a part of every step of my career. Through volunteering as a teenager, working as a nurse, and now as a nurse practitioner, I know this is where my heart is. I enjoy working at CHKD because it gives me wonderful opportunities to serve the children and families of Hampton Roads by helping them to navigate and manage their chronic conditions. I am thankful to be a part of a health system that strives to promote health, healing, and hope for all children.
Bio
Grace grew up in Norfolk and volunteered at CHKD during high school and college. That's how she knew she wanted to work at CHKD and go into healthcare.
Grace went to James Madison University for undergraduate nursing school and attended ODU for her master's and doctorate degrees in nursing.
At CHKD, Grace worked as an inpatient nurse and then as a diabetes care and education specialist.
Her clinical interests include type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, diabetes technology, transition from pediatric to adult care, and thyroid disorders.
In her spare time, Grace enjoys cooking, trying out new restaurants, and traveling the world with her husband. She has two dogs.
