I love CHKD because they have a specialized patient population. I value building long-term relationships with patients and families and a collaborative team environment.

Bio

Jean Ortega was born in the Philippines and grew up in California. With both parents in healthcare, she knew from an early age that was what she wanted to do. Jean pursued a career in nursing because she wanted to help others at the bedside while having opportunities for career advancement.

Jean chose to work at CHKD because she loves working with kids. She chose primary care because of the focus on prevention and education for caregivers.

Jean is engaged and has two Labrador retrievers. She enjoys baking, hiking, traveling, and reading books.
