Personal Statement

I am passionate and appreciative of my career. I feel a supportive pediatric healthcare advocate from an early age can help guide a family with the challenges of raising children in our busy world.

Bio

Krista is from Lynchburg, Virginia. She has always enjoyed and appreciated taking care of people and animals. When Krista was little, she would "rescue" anything that needed a little help in life, from baby birds to crayfish to snapping turtles, and even baby opossums.

Krista discovered a love for working with kids as a teen and babysat all throughout high school, college, and even after becoming an RN. Her first nursing job was on 7C as a nurse extern before her senior year of college, which began her 20+ career with CHKD. Krista transferred to the resource pool while attending school for her master's program before staring her nurse practitioner career with the Cardiac Surgery team. She later transferred to Chesapeake Pediatrics, and now works as a general pediatrician with the Psychiatry and Psychology team at CHKD.

In her spare time, Krista loves to spend time with her four girls: traveling, hiking, and exploring new places. She enjoys learning and reading and strives to become a better person for the next generation.
