Personal Statement

Bio

Nurse Practitioner Mary “Betsy” Miller, originally from the Los Angeles area of California, was inspired to pursue a career in healthcare by her family, many of whom are also healthcare professionals.

Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Betsy gained valuable experience as a pediatric nurse in various hospital units, including the emergency department. This background made pediatric urgent care the ideal intersection of her professional skills and clinical interests.

During her fellowship at CHKD, Betsy was particularly impressed by the supportive and enriching learning environment, which solidified her decision to join the health system.

Outside of her professional commitments, Betsy enjoys running, working out, and spending time with her friends and her English bulldog. She also has a passion for live music, international travel, and lifelong learning. Although her family resides in California, Betsy looks forward to continuing their annual tradition of meeting for a half-marathon to reconnect.
