I believe the best care happens when children and families feel heard, supported and truly cared for. That is the environment CHKD creates every day, and I am honored to be part of a team that cares for families with compassion and purpose. I admire CHKD’s dedication to children and families, its collaborative environment, and its commitment to delivering exceptional pediatric care.
Bio
Michaela is originally from Virginia Beach, Virginia, which she still considers home. She has also lived in Florida and Georgia.
Michaela was drawn to a career in medicine because of her love of science and caring for others. Her interest and passion to become a PA was solidified after receiving care at CHKD when she was younger and learning the power of compassionate, patient-centered medicine.
Her clinical interests include IBS, constipation, GERD, nutrition, and how chronic conditions impact gastrointestinal symptoms.
Michaela chose to work at CHKD because it holds a special place in her heart from her own experiences as a patient and from previous work with CHKD Orthopedics Surgery and Sports Medicine.
In her free time, Michaela enjoys spending time with her family, which includes her husband, daughter, and their chocolate lab. She also enjoys reading, weightlifting, baking, and cooking.
