Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (ANCC)

Personal Statement

I was drawn to CHKD because of its mission to provide compassionate, family-centered care to children.

Bio

Rhea was born and raised in Hickory, North Carolina. Her interest in healthcare began after seeing a close family member struggle with schizophrenia, which sparked Rhea’s passion for mental health. That experience inspired her to want to support and advocate for individuals facing mental health challenges.

Rhea chose to work at CHKD because she loves working with children and has prior experience in the school system. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their golden doodle, Rowan. Family means a lot to her, especially being an aunt to her two nieces and young nephew. In her free time, she enjoys church, singing, swimming, watching documentaries, and attending musicals.
