Gentle Dental Care for Growing Smiles

Our Pediatric Dentistry program, led by board-certified pediatric dentist Dr. Ashley Anderson, provides specialized dental care for children age 6 and under with Medicaid, as well as for children with cleft and craniofacial conditions and those with special healthcare needs who still have baby teeth.

We focus on preventive care like cleanings, sealants, and fluoride treatments, along with restorative services such as fillings, crowns, and extractions. Our team also offers sedation options, pain management, and customized treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each child.

For families with older children who have special needs and don’t fall into a clear referral category, we’re happy to help explore appropriate next steps and referrals.

We are committed to creating a positive, stress-free experience while helping every child build healthy dental habits that last a lifetime.

Special Needs Care

Pediatric dentists are also trained to care for children and adolescents with special healthcare needs. Special healthcare needs can encompass a wide range of physical, developmental, mental, sensory, behavioral, cognitive, or emotional impairments or limiting conditions. These conditions may be congenital, developmental, or acquired through disease, trauma, or environmental causes. These conditions can impact oral health and may require modifications in the delivery of dental care. We are dedicated to providing tailored care with patience and kindness in a safe and calm environment to accommodate and adapt to the needs of our patients, especially those with special healthcare needs.

Insurance and Billing Information

We accept all major insurances, including Virginia Medicaid, Tricare, and Cardinal Health. Please take the time to understand how your insurance plan works, especially regarding annual deductibles and co-pays, which can affect your out-of-pocket costs.

Our Pediatric Dentistry Program requires a referral. Please make sure it has not expired and bring it with you to the appointment.

Everyone should bring a government-issued photo ID and their insurance card to every medical appointment.

We offer in-depth information about insurance in our billing and insurance section.
