Duties 

  • Responsible for the overall financial management, reporting and analysis of CHKD, the Foundation and its related entities’ operations. 
  • Provides operational oversight of patient services/revenue cycle and supply chain functions. 
  • Chairs several committees for the Health System. 

Background

Abshire’s career in leadership spans more than 30 years. She has significant experience in the healthcare and not-for-profit sector. She previously served with KPMG for 14 years and specialized in the not-for-profit practice with a focus on healthcare entities.

Education

Abshire received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Old Dominion University, earned her Master of Science in Healthcare Administration at Virginia Commonwealth University, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
