Andrew Thompson, DO

Bio

Dr. Thompson staffs CHKD’s newest outpatient psychiatric clinic in Williamsburg, VA, and appreciates the opportunity to work with children and their families of every age and stage. He is particularly interested and skilled in supporting children with autism spectrum disorder.

Dr. Thompson is originally from the Tidewater region and first considered a career in ministry before pivoting to medicine. He has degrees from William & Mary (undergraduate), Virginia Commonwealth University (postgraduate), Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (medical school), and University of Florida College of Medicine (residency and fellowship).

Away from work, Dr. Thompson enjoys pickleball with friends, stroller walks with his wife and daughter, and everything about the season of fall (especially hiking, fire pits, flannel, and pumpkin spice).
