Personal Statement

There are so many reasons why working for CHKD is my dream come true. Watching children grow is one of the most special and wonderful experiences in life. I'm beyond grateful to get to share that experience with parents and families.

Bio

Emma was born and raised in Chesapeake, Virginia and graduated from Hickory High School (go Hawks!) She studied at West Virginia University and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Emma has worked in pediatric primary care and CHKD Urgent Care while completing her master's degree from University of Cincinnati as a certified family nurse practitioner. She always been passionate about nursing and medicine, especially preventative medicine and mental health. Emma hopes for every child to grow up healthy, strong, and resilient.

Emma says she grew up seeing the positive impact CHKD had on her community's children and families. Her mother, who worked for CHKD, and her own pediatrician inspired her to care for future generations.

In her free time, Emma spends most of her time with family and friends. She loves being outside, gardening, swimming at the beach, and hiking in the mountains. She also enjoys listening to all kinds of music and cooking. Emma is married and has a sweet goldendoodle.
