Personal Statement
I have witnessed CHKD grow from 1976 to the present, providing the highest level of pediatric services in the Tidewater area.When I first started, CHKD was providing only general pediatric services. Now in 2014, every aspect of pediatric medicine and support is provided.
Bio
Dr. Kagan is a Boston native and graduated from Boston University. He attended Georgetown University School of Medicine along with a clinical fellowship in pulmonary medicine and anesthesiology at Harvard Medical School. He is an assistant professor of clinical pediatrics at Eastern Virginia Medical School, preceptor for first- and second-year medical students and past chairman of pediatrics at DePaul Hospital and Chesapeake General Hospital. He served six years as a member and interviewer on the committee of admissions at EVMS.
Dr. Kagan lives in Virginia Beach with wife Joanne and has two children. His daughter is a clinical psychologist and son is a professional artist who has exhibited worldwide. In his free time, he enjoys relaxing at the beach with a good book, anything Red Sox, flying (by simulation), amateur astronomy, and, of course, Angry Birds.
