Personal Statement

I have always known CHKD to be a leading organization in Hampton Roads that provides cutting-edge medical treatment with a caring touch. I’m excited to be a part of it as I join their growing mental health team.

Bio

After completing her training at the University of Maryland/Sheppard Pratt Psychiatry Residency Program and at the University of Maryland Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship Program, Dr. Elliker is excited to be back in her hometown. Born and raised in a Navy family, Dr. Elliker spent much of her childhood in Hampton Roads and is familiar with what it means to be from "the 757.”

Dr. Elliker has also enjoyed living in other parts of the country including San Diego, Memphis, Northern VA, and most recently, Baltimore. Living in these areas sparked a desire to learn about how different backgrounds and experiences shape people, an interest that drew her to psychiatry.

Dr. Elliker and her husband enjoy spending time with nearby family, trying new restaurants, and being outdoors. They are loving parents of a calico cat named Wilma, who will be a big sister to a baby boy due November 2020.

Refer to Our Mental Health Program

CHKD is working hard to build a Mental Health Program with care access opportunities for all children in need. We currently have a high volume of requests and partner with mental health agencies outside of CHKD to ensure all children referred receive an appropriate treatment resource.
