Bio
Dr. Kevin Lou received his doctorate in sport, exercise, and performance psychology along with a master’s degree in counseling and a master's degree in sport, exercise, and performance psychology from West Virginia University. Dr. Lou is also a certified mental performance consultant with the Association of Applied Sport Psychology and specializes in working with athletes, performers, and artists on performance-related concerns. Dr. Lou previously worked with the Cleveland Guardians in a professional baseball setting, with West Virginia University in a collegiate athletic setting, in a college counseling center at West Virginia University, and with youth athletes and teams in the community.
Dr. Lou typically draws from acceptance commitment therapy (ACT) during his sessions but also uses cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness techniques as well. He is originally from Southern California and received his undergraduate degrees from University of California, San Diego. He most recently moved from Arizona with his partner, Ashley. Dr. Lou is also listed in the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee Mental Health & Mental Performance Directory.
