Laura joined CHKD’s Child Advocacy Team in February 2022, bringing with her a rich and diverse background in mental health and public service. Before coming to CHKD, she worked in private practice, providing psychotherapy to individuals and families. Laura is dedicated to helping children and families overcome adversity by utilizing evidence-based practices that promote healing, strength, and resilience. She is certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and trained in several other specialized modalities, including:
- Parent-Child Interaction Therapy for Toddlers (PCIT-T)
- Child and Family Traumatic Stress Intervention (CFTSI)

- Advanced TF-CBT for Problematic Sexual Behavior (PSB)
- Advanced TF-CBT for Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC)
Outside of work, Laura enjoys spending time with her two sons and their three dogs. You’ll often find them at the baseball field or enjoying the beach together.
