Personal Statement

As a child I told my parents that I was going to work at CHKD one day. I am honored to be living out my dream and making a difference in the lives of the children and families of Hampton Roads.

Bio

Monica May Lombos, a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, was born and raised in the Hampton Roads.

She has always had a passion for children, and began her nursing career at CHKD in 2018. During her time as a bedside nurse, she was one of the first nurses to work on CHKD's medical psychiatric unit.

Monica May decided to continue her education and become a nurse practitioner. She is now combining her two interests of pediatrics and mental health, while working on her doctorate at Old Dominion University.

In her free time, Monica May enjoys spending time with her family and friends, training jiu jitsu, and going to concerts.

Concerned About Your Child's Mental Health?

If you are concerned about your child's mental health, the best place to start is with your child's primary care pediatrician. Many of CHKD's pediatricians have completed advanced training in the management of disorders such as ADHD, depression, and anxiety.
