Personal Statement
At CHKD, we care for some of the tiniest patients facing the biggest challenges. I treat each baby the way I would want my own family cared for, with compassion, honesty, and the highest level of medical care. What drew me to CHKD is its unwavering dedication to children and families, and I’m proud to be part of a team that shows up every day with both expertise and heart.
Bio
Dr. Chapman grew up in Chicago, where her early exposure to medicine began by observing her grandmother work as a nurse. That interest deepened years later when a close family member was born prematurely and required a prolonged NICU stay. Witnessing both the complexity of neonatal care and the profound impact it had on her family solidified Dr. Chapman’s desire to pursue a career in neonatology. In addition to neonatal care, Dr. Chapman has been involved with medical education throughout her career at various levels.
During her residency training, Dr. Chapman had the opportunity to train in the area and says she always admired CHKD's strong reputation in pediatric care. When deciding to come back to the area to practice, CHKD was the first place she considered. Dr. Chapman says she was drawn to CHKD because of its longstanding reputation for excellence and its commitment to innovation, teamwork, and compassionate service. She is honored to be joining a team that prioritizes both clinical excellence and the well-being of the families served.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Chapman enjoys spending time with her husband and their three children. As a family, they travel often to create lasting memories together. In her free time, Dr. Chapman also enjoys reading, going to the movies, and volunteering with scouting organizations.
