Personal Statement

CHKD has been a wonderful home for me! I have professionally grown through CHKD by working as a milk formula technician, to now being a Registered Dietitian in the Gastroenterology clinic. I strive to always learn and be challenged, while collaborating with my fellow dietitians on the team. I am passionate to serve our community through optimizing nutrition care for infants and children.

Bio

Sophia was born and raised in Virginia Beach, VA. She received her bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech in Human Nutrition, Foods and Exercise. She continued her education by receiving a master’s degree from Texas Tech University in Nutrition and Dietetics while participating in her dietetic internship through Morrison Healthcare in Norfolk, VA. Sophia developed a passion to work in pediatrics during her internship rotations and previous job roles, which has landed her at CHKD.
