Raised and educated in New York, Dr. Guins completed her fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. She subsequently joined CHKD’s Emergency Medicine department, where she served as an attending physician for 20 years.

Dr. Guins played a key role in developing CHKD’s Urgent Care service line, expanding access to specialized pediatric care for ill and injured children across the community.
