Championing CHKD's Urgent Care initiative has been incredibly rewarding; there is nothing better than healing an ill or injured child.
Bio
Raised and educated in New York, Dr. Guins completed her fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. She subsequently joined CHKD’s Emergency Medicine department, where she served as an attending physician for 20 years.
Dr. Guins played a key role in developing CHKD’s Urgent Care service line, expanding access to specialized pediatric care for ill and injured children across the community.
In addition, she is actively engaged in advancing pre-hospital pediatric care. Through education and advocacy at both regional and state levels, Dr. Guins works to strengthen the quality of care children receive from pre-hospital providers.
