Bio
Dr. Guins is the medical director for CHKD's Urgent Care program.
Raised and educated in New York, Dr. Guins completed her fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. She then moved to Virginia and spent 20 years as an attending physician in the CHKD's Emergency Medicine department.
Dr. Guins was asked to develop CHKD's Urgent Care service line, which allows the CHKD Health System to offer its pediatric expertise in caring for ill and injured children throughout the community.
She is also involved in pre-hospital care of children. Through advocacy and education, both regionally and at the state level, she hopes to improve the care that pediatric patients receive from pre-hospital providers.
