Bio
Dr. Richard “Jason” Gerber is a United States Air Force veteran. During his 21 years with the USAF, Dr. Gerber cared for children with special needs in all five branches of the military.
He has lived in the Hampton Roads area for nearly a decade and is well-versed in caring for children with special needs. Not only has he treated patients with special needs for decades, but he and his wife of 25 years have several children with special needs.
He has many connections to various resources within the community, including support groups, medical and therapeutic services, as well as early intervention services. In addition, Dr. Gerber has a special interest in helping children with special needs make the transition to adulthood, using a variety of community resources. He loves helping parents feel empowered to advocate for their children and helping them create plans so their children reach their full potential.
Dr. Gerber and his wife have enjoyed living in many parts of the country, and also overseas. Dr. Gerber and his wife have six children, five of whom are adopted. In his spare time, Dr. Gerber enjoys playing the piano, researching family history, and serving in his faith community.
