Immunizations

Immunizations are one of the greatest advances in public health. Unfortunately, we are seeing a growing number of outbreaks of conditions such as measles, whooping cough, and other childhood illnesses, because children are not being vaccinated properly. The United States currently has the safest, most effective vaccine supply in its history.

Immunization Guidelines

Giving your baby the recommended immunizations by age two is the best way to protect them from 14 serious diseases. We encourage parents to follow the American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines.

Virginia Immunization Information

My child is sick right now. Is it still OK for them to get immunization shots?

One of our healthcare professionals will determine if your child will be able to receive immunizations at the time of your visit. If they have a fever, it is usually recommended to wait until the fever is gone. Children can usually get vaccinated if they don't have a fever even if they have a mild illness like a cold, earache, or diarrhea.
