Vice President of Advancement
Duties
Thomas oversees our government relations work at the local, state, and national levels to ensure that CHKD's most pressing needs for support, particularly through the Medicaid program, are addressed so that we can most effectively serve all children in need of CHKD's unique services.
Background
Thomas joined CHKD as the Director of Government Relations in 2019 where he supported the legislative affairs for the health system. A native of Norfolk, VA, Thomas brings an array of experience in public policy and community engagement. He joined CHKD after serving as the Director of Government Relations with Norfolk Southern Corporation. Prior to Norfolk Southern, Thomas worked with Mayor Paul D. Fraim at the City of Norfolk, where he served as the Mayor's Executive Assistant.
Education
Thomas has a B.A. in Government from the University of Virginia and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Richmond School of Law.
