Personal Statement
I love working at CHKD because it feels like family, and there is a huge sense of community, support, and love. Our team is diverse and always working together to make the families and patient feel like they matter most.
Bio
After being a nurse for 17 years in pediatric and adult emergency rooms and trauma, Reyna decided to further her education and graduated with her FNP in 2017. She has always loved being a pediatric nurse and is loving her role as a nurse practitioner.
Reyna started at CHKD in 2009 in the emergency room and returned in 2013 as a sexual assault nurse examiner in our Child Advocacy Center. After graduation, Reyna started as an adult hospitalist, but realized how much she missed the pediatric population, and when presented with the opportunity to return to CHKD as a pediatric surgical NP, she couldn’t pass it up.
During her time with Children’s Specialty Group, Reyna realized that she wanted more of a connection with families of children with complex care needs and began working as a nurse practitioner in our hospitalist division.
Reyna lives in Norfolk with her husband and son. They love to explore and enjoy vacationing to new places.
