Personal Statement

As both a provider and a parent, I value CHKD’s family-centered approach and commitment to delivering exceptional care to help every child reach their full potential. This gives me a unique perspective and appreciation for the challenges and joys families experience.

Bio

Amanda grew up throughout the Hampton Roads area and now lives in Chesapeake, Virginia.

She has always been passionate about helping others and making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families.

Amanda is especially passionate about caring for children with autism spectrum disorder and other special health care needs. As the parent of a daughter with autism, she understands the importance of individualized, family-centered care. Amanda also has a special interest in sleep medicine and how quality sleep impacts a child’s health, behavior, learning, and overall well-being. She chose CHKD because of its longstanding reputation for providing exceptional pediatric care and its commitment to supporting children and families throughout the community.

Amanda enjoys spending time with her husband and their five children, going to the beach, and exploring new places. One of their favorite parts of traveling is experiencing local cuisine and discovering new restaurants. Amanda also enjoys reading, cooking, yoga, and volunteering.
