Bio
Andreina Valenzula is a nurse practitioner on our surgery team. She is dedicated to delivering patient-centered care, supporting recovery, and advancing health equity across diverse populations. She earned her Family Nurse Practitioner degree from the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing at Emory University.
She brings a broad range of clinical experience to her role. Most recently, she served as a family nurse practitioner at KidMed Urgent Care in Midlothian, Virginia, where she developed treatment plans based on comprehensive exams and medical histories, ensured safe and timely care, and supported efficient patient flow. She also helped resolve clinical issues, strengthen team communication, and promote a professional, collaborative environment.
Earlier, she worked at Southwestern Women’s Options in Albuquerque, New Mexico, as a reproductive health medical assistant and doula. In this role, she monitored patients during labor, assisted physicians during procedures using guided ultrasound, and supported staff training and development.
Originally from Albuquerque, she grew up in the Southwest and values the rich cultural experiences that shaped her approach to care. Spanish was her first language, and she became bilingual in elementary school; she later went on to learn Portuguese in college.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors — whether reading in a hammock or walking in the park — and has a passion for Spanish literature and traveling to new countries.
