Helen Bianco, PA-C

Education

Graduate School: Eastern Virginia Medical School

Personal Statement

I chose CHKD because of its unwavering commitment to children. As an orthopedic Physician Assistant, I have the opportunity to help young patients heal, grow, and get back to being kids - there's no more rewarding work than that.

Bio

Helen grew up in Norfolk, Virginia. When she turned 18, she knew she wanted to help people and became the youngest paramedic in the city of Virginia Beach. Helen volunteered as a paramedic while working as an emergency department tech at CHKD until she pursued a job at Children's National Medical Center as a transport flight medic. After working there, she was recruited by the city of Virginia Beach to help them start their air ambulance program. Helen continued working as a paramedic while obtaining her Bachelor of Science in psychology. She graduated PA school at EVMS in 2015 before working at the newly-opened CHKD Urgent Care at Volvo. Helen later worked as a hospitalist at Children's Pavilion, and is now working in inpatient orthopedics.

The pediatric population is Helen's passion. She grew up going to a CHKD pediatrician, and it only made sense to choose CHKD.

Helen and her husband have three active kids, all active in sports. In her spare time, Helen enjoys ice skating competitions, running marathons, Star Wars cosplay at local charity events, and going to Disney World.
