Personal Statement
I have always considered CHKD to be an authority in children's Healthcare. When an opportunity to be a part the organization arose, I was excited. I've been a pediatrician for 30 years, and I've worked in a variety of settings and systems. Now I work for an organization that is focused solely on pediatric care. "Joy" is the best word to describe what I'm feeling.
Bio
Dr. John Bouldin was born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia, and his passion for medicine began at an early age. At just six years old, he dreamed of becoming a "baby doctor," inspired by the pediatrician who cared for him as a child. While he explored other medical specialties along the way, his desire to become a physician never wavered.
For Dr. Bouldin, medicine is the perfect combination of science, problem-solving, and service to others. During medical school, he confirmed that pediatrics was his calling and has since dedicated his career to caring for children and supporting their families. His clinical interests include child development and behavioral medicine, areas in which he is especially passionate about helping young patients thrive.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Bouldin enjoys a rich family life with his wife and their two impressive young adult children. He is an avid supporter of the arts, particularly music, and enjoys attending live performances, especially in intimate venues. On occasion, he even steps onto the amateur stage himself.
Having grown up near the water, Dr. Bouldin is excited to be back in Coastal Virginia and looks forward to spending more time on the water and reconnecting with one of his lifelong passions.
