Shannon Smith was born and raised in Portsmouth, VA, and has been a Virginia Beach resident for the past 10 years.
When she was younger, Shannon had a family member treated at CHKD, which prompted her desire to work not just in healthcare, but at CHKD specifically. She is passionate about helping other families in her community during their time of need, just as was done for her and her family.
Growing up, Shannon’s greatest passion was always sports. Orthopedics and sports medicine allowed her to combine the best of both worlds.
Shannon and her husband have a blended family with eight children altogether. They love spending time outdoors and enjoying the different scenery Hampton Roads has to offer. Most often, they spend time at the beach in Sandbridge, camping, or hiking the trails at First Landing.
